"Vibrant colors and fun rhyming theme throughout the book.
Excellent children’s book about the importance of taking the
time to study with real examples of how they would use the
skills in real life. We definitely recommend this book for all
young readers in elementary school to read alone or with
parents and teachers.”

“Awesome is the only word I can think of to describe this
darling book for kids about school, homework, and doing
what is right. The story has a great hook for kids whether it is
being read aloud or being read independently. This is a story
that combines fun, learning, and a life lesson all wrapped up
in an engaging story. Teachers and parents will
approve and children will want to read it
again and again.
I give this book a thumbs up.”

In an almost “’Twas the night before Christmas” type of rhyme, author Molly Nero, who grew up in Texas loving to sing, dance, and read and spent over eighteen years teaching elementary school, gently reminds youngsters about the advantages of working hard and finding fun ways to learn their lessons.  It may be difficult for some of us to believe, but it’s not all that uncommon for children who study diligently and do well in school to be teased (“Geek!” “Nerd!” “Smarty-Pants!”) by other kids.  Our students need all the help and encouragement that they can get, and Smarty Pig, with its visually attractive, full-page illustrations by Monique Turchan, can assist in that effort.  Kudos for a really neat story which shows us that learning is cool and not just for school but for life.   The second book in the Smarty Pig book series Smarty Pig and the Test Taking Terror is scheduled to be released later this year.”
